RE: "...Maybe the organic market is ambiguous..."

Yeah- again, I wasn't trying to be insulting at all, or belittle your post, or your way of thinking, jfain... and I totally side with you as far as good motived intention. It's just the trust-factor. It seems that anyone who can scam us- eventually DOES. I was lucky enuf to grow up in the country with bountiful gardens, fruit/nut trees, berry brambles and such- good eatin'! I still like the idea of eatin' like that today- and as far as my adult schedule allows- I make every effort. But I often wonder if it ends up all being in vain? (Now excuse me as I take a sip of healthy of cool, clear Aquafina from this dastardly plastic bottle with a carbon life of a QUA-ZILLION years that'll be teeterin' atop a mountain of other polutin' goods in some landfill within a week's time!)

It does seem sometimes like a hopeless struggle. A lot people who make our food don't really seem to worry too much about how good it is for us. No matter what good we try to do to make it better there is someone out there who will try to knock it off to make a buck but I'm a hopeless optimist. I still want to try.

I know... I know... If we can just get the whole world to want to try- then imagine the impact we could make!
