So Kevin I am dying to know more about Minot was he like a typical fellow or what? Is he still in Alaska or have the guys in white jackets come to carry him away? Was he serious that night or was he just pulling your leg?

Minot was/is quite a character, Cathy. On the one hand he was a good guy- but on the other hand he was slightly "off" at times. He also could be a trouble maker. I ended up having to terminate him. He was a 55 year old guy w/ a lot of grocery-store/bake-shop experience and the residents at the camp loved his donuts, cookies, etc. His home-base was Sparks, Nevada and he had a wife who had a gambling addiction problem. She would get his paycheks and lose them all at the c a s i n o s (***don't know why the word was disallowed in my prior typed form). Sad, really. Well, once when she was visiting camp, we were shorthanded and in deperate need. Long story short? I hired her. She was fantastic and the guys loved her for a couple months. Then she started slipping. I had anonymous reports of things missing from peoples' living quarters (she was a housekeeper). After many episodes and getting caught doing some stuff red-handed, I had to let her go. Well, Minot started this behind the scenes attempt to rally a support group of camp population to petition for the return of his wife- he fought like the dickens for her reinstatement. He fought so unabashedly, in fact, that the client we served in the camp approached US and said he too had crossed a line and must be let go. To this day he doesn't understand WHY. He's constantly sending letter-threats of lawsuits, etc. He's sometimes good as gold- but other times he's a bit unstable. And that whole Art Bell thing? The waiting for the Flying Saucers and stuff? Yeah- that's totally real... he's a complete ding-bat for wacko unsolved mysteries, conspiracy-theories and such... he's completely into that stuff. I have no doubt that he sincerely thought he'd walk up the boarding ramp to a saucer and be led into some alien auditorium where all of the world's secrets would be revealed to him- the murder of JFK, the mysteries of Sasquatch, Loch Ness and the Bermuda Triangle, the real story behind 9/11, Osama Bin Laden's whereabouts, the reason why we ain't carried Noah's Ark off the mountian yet, etc... you get the idea! Ha!
