We have Calphalon stainless steel pots. We have a non-stick skillet that we use, but our pots are stainless and we prefer those b/c you don't have to be as careful about which utensils you use, and there's not the concern about the coating like there is with nonstick (if you've been watching the news lately they are about to revamp how they do it b/c it was not healthy).

Pots and pans with non-stick coatings are another type of cookware we would put into this category of toxic materials risk. With stainless steel, you get a cooking surface that can include some less risky materials than non-stick coatings. It is also more stable and less prone to leaching of chromium from stainless steel; this mineral is both essential and currently deficient in the diets of many US adults. Nonstick pan creates fumes which have been linked to possible respiratory irritation and flu like symptoms and can kill your pet birds.

My saucepans are all stainless but my skillets are the original non-stick - Cured cast iron.
