I am going to stick with it.
I have the turkey in its brine. I baked the french bread and corn bread for the oyster dressing and made a cheeseball.

Janie I rather think you love waiting on your FIL and you adore him and have not 1 min.'s complaint about cooking for him!;) I kind of have assessed your problem is in all the "Other" dead-beats that make their way to the table empty-handed holiday after holiday.

You would probably have it a little easier if you just run away on the holidays and go get a cabin at some state park and enjoy being with Jon and away from all the "good old gang" that can't manage to contribute! I'll bet they don't even offer a few bucks to help foot the food bill for all the $$$ it costs you to prepare these feasts! Heck you could probably pay for your cabin with the $$$ you fork out for the groceries for these holiday get togethers. I love those cabins at state parks;)

We should all surprise Mama and each of us bring a dish, that will be a treat! It will be the largest family get together ever!
