yes - putting oil in is SO MUCH easier than trying to spread butter. No ripped bread for the kids *clears her throat* and hubby

to gripe about.
I always just put a little in the pan, put the bread in and spin it so it'll give it a nice coat, and go through all the bread & do the same. Just make a stack of the bread and get set to go.
Watch your temp when doing this though cuz the oil cooks alot faster than the butter... and any oil on the pan will turn "icky" then you'll have gripers again. LOL
