While dehydrated chopped onion can be added directly to recipes using the equivalent about, they my be rehydrated: Use 6 parts tap water to 1 part dehydrated onion (by weight). Soak 1 hour, letting the onion sit with no agitation; then let drain 2 minutes with no vibration.
