• 8 oz fresh green beans, cut into 1 inch pieces
• 2 carrots, cut crosswise into halves, then int 3/8 inch strips
• 1 medium onion, sliced
• 8 oz fresh mushrooms, cut into 1/4 inch slices
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp garlic powder
• 1/8 tsp white pepper

1. Heat 1 inch water to boiling in 2 qt saucepan.
2. Add beans and carrots; heat to boiling, reduce heat.
3. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until almost tender; drain,
4. Cook and stir onion and mushrooms in butter in skillet over medium heat until almost tender, about 5 mins, reduce heat.
5. Cover and cook 3 mins.
6. Stir in beans, carrots, salt, garlic powder and pepper.
7. Cover and cook over medium heat 5 mins.
