To make Chocolate Fudge

  1. Combine sugar, milk, cocoa, syrup, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Cook until mix reaches soft ball stage*.
  3. Let cool slightly, then beat in butter and vanilla.
  4. Continue beating until fudge cools enough to hold its shape. Let harden and then cut into 2" x 2" squares.

*This recipe requires a candy thermometer.
