To Make Cinnamon Topped Nut Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F..
  2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. Stir in oats and nuts.
  4. Add milk, eggs and shortening; stirring only until dry ingredients are moistened.
  5. Pour batter into greased 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch loaf pan.
  6. Sprinkle with topping made by combining the following ingredients:

  1. Bake 55 to 60 minutes.
  2. Remove from pan immediately; cool.
  3. Wrap cooled bread and store 1 day for ease in slicing.
