Cut celery in thin diagonal slices to measure 4 cups.
Cut enough green onions with tops in 1 inch pieces to measure 1/4 cup.
Melt butter in large frying pan; stir in celery.
Cover and cook slowly, stirring several times, 10 minutes or until barely tender.
Stir in onion; cook 5 minutes.
Sprinkle flour over vegetables, then blend in chicken broth.
Cook, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and boils 1 minute.
Stir in garlic pepper, Worcestershire sauce and milk.
Heat slowly until hot.
Spoon into dish and sprinkle with toasted slivered almonds.
