  1. Brown the ground beef and onions in a pan over medium heat. Stir frequently. Drain all fat.
  2. Stir in tomatoes with the liquid, and liquid from beans (don't add beans yet).
  3. All all remaining ingredients (except beans). Simmer for 45 minutes. Add a little water if needed.
  4. Stir in the beans; simmer for 15 minutes more.
