NO-O-O-O I didn't mean it!!!!! I was being sarcastic is all...:o
I love the space programme. I have been enthralled by it since I saw the take off of Apollo 11 from our school television. I remember that we were scheduled to watch the Hills of Kilimanjaro, a geography series that was on the syllabus, that year.
The headmaster came in to the hall and said that he thought that the children (my form), should watch the Apollo lift off. There was an obvious exchange of words between the form teacher and the headmaster as to which would be more beneficial to the class. He said this is something that these children will be able to tell their grand children, it is an historical event. So we got to watch the take off. It was magnificent. I felt privileged.
It is a pity that it seems that the shuttle is coming to the end of its functional life, and it is a shame that the space programme is taking a back seat.
I feel that the reason for this 'explosion on the moon' is going to be the very first step in manned travel to Mars, or at least the very first step in making living on the moon for an indefinite period possible. The way I see it this going to be much easier way to take off from the Moon than it is from Earth, (gravity and all that). The space travellers will need much less fuel.
It's a pity that Russian and China have to be involved.

I disagree, I think every nation should be involved. Space exploration should be a human endeavor, not just a national one. Politics has been responsible for too many human catastrophies and should be left behind on earth.
