• 1 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup confectioners sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 1/2 cups white flour
• 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
• 3/4 cup candied cherries
• 3/4 cup candied pineapple
• 3/4 cup raisins, chopped
• 1 cup chopped walnuts

1. Cream butter and sugar; beat in egg. Gradually add flour and cream of tartar. Beat until just mixed.
2. Stir in fruit and nuts.
3. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a log 2" in diameter. Wrap in wax paper; freeze firm.
4. Slice 1/4" thick.
5. Place on greased baking sheet.
6. Bake at 375° F for 12 to 14 minutes until lightly brown on edges.

Makes 6 dozen cookies.
