Ingredients in French Toast Casserole

• 1 loaf firm bread
• 8 ounces cream cheese
• 1/4 cup maple syrup
• 10 eggs
• 1 1/2 cups half and half
• 8 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• cinnamon sugar (optional)

To Make French Toast Casserole

1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. Cube bread and layer half of it in 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
3. Cube cream cheese and sprinkle over bread.
4. Add remaining bread cubes.
5. Mix together eggs, maple syrup, half and half, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pure vanilla extract.
6. Mix all ingredients well.
7. Pour ingredients over bread.
8. Press down so bread absorbs the liquid.
9. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
10. In the morning, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (if desired).
11. Bake 40-45 minutes at 350° F.
12. Serve with syrup or jam.
