To make Peanut Butter Fudge

  1. Add chocolate to milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and blended.
  2. Add sugar and salt; stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.
  3. Cook without stirring until a small amount of the mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water (236° F.).
  4. Remove from heat; add peanut butter and vanilla without stirring.
  5. Cool to lukewarm (110° F.), then beat until creamy.
  6. Turn immediately into greased pan.
  7. When the Peanut Butter Fudge is firm, cut into 1 inch squares.

This recipe makes about 18 large pieces of Peanut Butter Fudge.
