- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- Adolphs Tenderizer
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- salt and pepper to taste
- Prick meat with fork or paring knife and sprinkle all sides with Adolphs Tenderizer; let stand 20 mins.
- Heat canola oil in heavy pan.
- Brown beef on all sides in hot oil.
- Place rack in bottom of pan and cook in boiling water that does not cover roast.
- Simmer for 1 hr.
- Add sliced onion and seasonings.
- Cook for an additional hour.
