McCormick Slow Cookers Southern BBQ Ribs 4 x 1.25oz (35g)
Make delicious southern style barbecue ribs in your home slow cooker.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes. Cooking time: 4 to 8 hours. Servings: 4 to 8 servings.
What You Will Need:
- 1 Package of McCormick Slow Cookers Southern BBQ Ribs Seasoning Mix
- 4 pounds bone in pork ribs, cut into 2 rib sections*
- 1 cup tomato ketchup
- 1/2 cup honey
- Place ribs into your slow cooker (crock pot). Mix together the McCormick Slow Cookers Southern BBQ Ribs Seasoning, tomato ketchup and honey until well blended. Pour over the ribs in the crock pot and cover. For best results, do not lift lid of slow cooker during cooking period.
- Cook for 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
- Remove ribs and place on a serving platter. Cover to keep warm
- Skim fat from the sauce and serve over ribs.
*For country style ribs, cut into 1 rib sections and cook on low for 8 hours.
Variations:
For a thicker sauce: After Cooking, skim fat, then pour mixture into a medium sauce. Bring to a boil over high heat while stirring occasionally and cook for 10 more minutes, stirring frequently.
Make a Southern Style BBQ Pulled Chicken recipe:
Use 2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts in place of ribs in above recipe. Cook as directed. When done, remove chicken from crock pot, and skim any fat from sauce. Shred using two forks. Return shredded chicken to sauce crock pot and mix together. Serve over sandwich or slider rolls along with coleslaw, if desired.
