5 slices bread, dried
2 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 cup grated onion
1/2 tsp garlic salt, coarse ground
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Cut bread in cubes and soak in water.
Mix together all other ingredients.
Move bread cubes from water and squeeze water out and mix with meat mixture.
Shape into balls.
Put on cookie sheet.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.

Sauce

1 cup tomatoes
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp grated onion
10 gingersnaps, crushed

Mix together all ingredients.
Cook to boiling.
Add meat balls, simmer 10 minutes.
