  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cream shortening, both sugars and peanut butter.
  3. Add egg; beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Sift flour with soda and salt.
  5. Add to egg mixture and blend well.
  6. Roll dough into oblong shape 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Melt chocolate bits over boiling water.
  8. Spread onto rolled dough.
  9. Roll up like jelly roll and chill.
  10. Slice 1/4 inch thick.
  11. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes.
