Recipe: Original Girl Scout Cookies
2 cups sugar
2 cups butter
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
4 cups sifted unbleached Pillsbury or King Arthur All-Purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
1. Cream together the sugar, butter, egg, milk, and salt.
2. Mix flour and baking powder together. Add to sugar mixture a little at a time while mixing.
3. Mix in vanilla extract.
4. Refrigerate dough one hour.
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
6. Roll dough on a floured board about3/8 inch thick.
7. Cut into cookies with a cookie cutter or a water glass.
8. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.
9. Reroll scraps of dough, and cut into pieces.
10. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
11. Mix cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle over hot cookies.
12. Cool cookies on a wire rack. |
