Zatarains Long Grain & Wild Rice Mix 38oz 1.07g
Zatarain's - A New Orleans Tradition Since 1889
OVEN PREPARATION
- In a full steam pan, add 12 cups of hot water, 2 oz of butter or olive oil, and package of Zatarain's Long Grain and Wild Rice Mix.
- Stir together thoroughly; then cover tightly with lid or foil.
- Place into a preheated 400° F oven and bake for 35-40 minuted until rice is cooked. Do not over cook.
- Remove cooked rice from oven and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Just before serving, stir the cooked Long Grain and Wild Rice Mixture gently to fluff and mix.
Makes 40 1/2 cup servings with a #8 scoop.
Stovetop Preparation for Family Size Portion
- Bring 2 1/4 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of butter to a boil in a 3 quart saucepan
- Add 1 1/3 cups of Zatarain's Long Grain and Wild Rice Mix Lower Sodium. Stir.
- Return to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to a simmer.
- Simmer for 20 - 25 minutes until all water is absorbed. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff before serving.
