Recipe: Galettes Fablees (Sugar Cookies)

- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1/3 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Cream sugar and butter together.
- Add egg and vanilla.
- Sift together flour, soda and salt.
- Add about 1/3 of this mixture to egg mixture, then add about 1/3 of the sour cream.
- Continue adding flour mixture alternately with sour cream.
- Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes.
- If desired, sprinkle with sugar and brush with egg white before baking.
