Overnight Bread Ingredients
1 tsp
dry yeast
3 cups warm water
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup shortening
1 tbsp
sea salt
8 cups flour
To make Overnight Bread
Soften yeast in warm water (85° F.) mixed with 1 tsp sugar about 10 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients in order given.
It's best to start this recipe at 5 pm and punch down every hour until 10 pm.
Shape into bread or rolls at 10pm.
Cover and let rise at room temperature overnight.
Bake the next morning.
Makes 20 to 25 rolls or 2 loaves plus 2 pans of sweet rolls, or 4 pans of sweet rolls.
Bake sweet rolls at 375° F. for 25 to 30 minutes. Bake bread rolls at 400° F. 12 to 20 minutes.
