Hershey’s Cocoa Fudge Recipe (early 1940s can recipe)

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch salt
  1. Mix sugar and cocoa in saucepan. 
  2. Add milk and stir well.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring until it boils.
  4. Boil without stirring to soft-ball stage (about 234°F).
  5. Remove from heat. 
  6. Add butter and vanilla.
  7. Cool until lukewarm. Beat until thick.
  8. Pour into buttered pan and cut when firm.
