Ingredients in Apple Jacks

• 1 cup light brown sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 egg
• 1-1/2 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp sea salt
• 1 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1 cup chopped apples

To make Apple Jacks

1. Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in egg. Stir in dry ingredients and then apples.
2. Shape into balls and drop on a greased cookie sheet.
3. Bake in a 375° F oven for 12-15 minutes.

Recipe makes 4 dozen 2" Apple Jack cookies.
