Recipe: Rum Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour 10 inch tube or 12 cup bundt pan.
  3. |
  4. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan.
  5. Mix remaining ingredients together.
  6. Pour batter over nuts in pan.
  7. Bake 1 hour; set on rack to cool.
  8. Invert on serving plate; prick top.
  9. Make glaze from the following.
  1. Melt butter in saucepan; stir in water and sugar.
  2. Boil 5 minutes; stirring constantly.
  3. Stir in rum.
  4. Drizzle and brush glaze evenly over tops and sides of cake.
Optional: Decorate with border of sugar frosted grapes and maraschino cherries. Decorate top of cake with whipped cream.
