  1. Brown rice and onion in canola oil.
  2. Add the chicken broth and tomato sauce along with 1 cup water.
  3. Bring to a boil. Add Tabasco sauce and then salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.
  5. Add onion salt to taste just before serving.
