Whole Wheat Batter Bread Ingredients

To make Whole Wheat Batter Bread

  1. In mixer bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add honey (or other sweetener), half of wheat and white flours, sea salt and canola oil. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.
  3. Blend in remaining flour until smooth. Scrape batter from sides of bowl.
  4. Cover with damp cloth and let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 30 minutes. Stir down batter by mixing with a wooden spoon.
  5. Spread batter evenly in well greased loaf pan, 9x5x3. Cover, and let the Whole Wheat Batter Bread dough rise until batter is near top of pan, about 40 minutes.
  6. Whole Wheat Batter Bread is ready to bake when a dent remains when batter is touched by your finger.
  7. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes.
  8. When done, Whole Wheat Batter Bread will have brown crust and will sound hollow when tapped.
