3 cups wheat flour
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp dry yeast
2 tbsp butter, softened
2 1/2 cups lukewarm flour
3 cups white flour

Combine wheat flour, salt, brown sugar and yeast. Add to this add shortening and water.
Knead in white flour. Shape and put into two 9x5" greased bread pans.
Let rise until twice in bulk. Bake 400° F. degrees for 40 minutes.
