Zatarain's Dirty Rice Mix Lower Sodium 40oz 1.13kg

Zatarain's New Orleans Style Dirty Rice Mix with 50% less sodium then original Zatarain's Dirty Rice Mix. With No MSG.

Oven Preparation

1. Brown 3 pounds of lean ground beef.
2. In a full metal steam pan, add 12 cups of boiling water, ground beef and the package of Zatarain's Dirty Rice Mix.
3. Stir thoroughly; then cover tightly with aluminum foil or a lid.
4. Place into a preheated 400° F oven and bake for 35 minutes or until rice is cooked.
5. Remove cooked rice from oven (no excessive liquid should be present in Dirty Rice) and let stand for 5 minutes.
6. Just before serving, stir gently to fluff rice and mix flavors.

Makes about 46 1/2 cup servings using a #8 Scoop.

Family Size Stovetop Preparation

1. Shake and flip bag to mix seasonings with rice.
2. Pour into a large bowl, and to additionally ensure even seasoning use a spoon to evenly mix the seasonings .
3. Cook 1 pound lean ground chicken, turkey or beef in a large (12 - 14") non stick skillet. Break up any clumps of meat with spatula as you cook the meat.
4. When the meat is cooked through, add 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then add 2 cups of Zatarain's Dirty Rice Mix. Stir, cover with a lid or tightly with aluminum foil.
   
5. Reduce heat to a simmer, and cook for about 25 minutes, or until all water is absorbed.
   

Makes about 15 1/2 cup servings.
