Serving Directions for Lawrys Stretch Taco Seasoning Mix
- Brown 20 pounds of ground beef (it is not necessary to drain fat).
- Add 1 package of Lawry's Stretch Taco Seasoning Mix and 1 1/2 gallons of water. Blend thoroughly.
- Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat and simmer taco mix for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Recipe Yields about 4 1/2 gallons of taco meat (about 243 2.3 oz servings by weight). No MSG Added*
Mexican Meat Loaf Recipe
- Add 1 package of Lawry's Stretch Taco Seasoning Mix to 20 pounds ground beef, 12 eggs and 3 quarts of water. Blend thoroughly.
- Shape meatloaf mix as desired in baking pans. Bake at 350° F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Drain excess liquid; let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
Recipe yields 80 slices.
This product meets USDA-FCS requirements for use in meeting a portion of the meat/meat alternative programs (based on a 2.3 oz serving of seasoned taco meat. On a raw basis, the formula contains 76.9% meat and 23.1% hydrated textures plant protein (hydrated at 1:5:1). The additional water is for the seasoning. (Note: Seasoning mix contains 53.9% texturized soy protein).
