McCormick Slow Cookers Hearty Beef Stew 4 x 1.5oz (42g)
Preparation Time: 15 minutes Slow Cooking Time: 4 to 8 hours. Servings: 8You Will Need:
- 1 Package of McCormick Slow Cookers Hearty Beef Stew Seasoning Mix
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, trimmed of visible fat and cut into 1 inch cubes
- 5 cuts of cut up vegetables such as celery, carrots, onions, potatoes, turnips, and rutabagas.
- 1 1/3 cups water
Directions
- Place beef* and vegetables in slow cooker crock pot.
- Mix seasoning mix and water until blended. Pour into crock pot over vegetables and beef. Toos to mix well.
- Cook for 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. Do not lift lid while cooking for best results. Stir before serving.
*If time allows, brown beef (and onions) quickly in a sauce pan (sometimes called searing) before adding to crock pot for a richer flavor. It's not necessary to cook the meat through (as the slow cooker will cook the meat) -- the goal is to get some caramelization on the outside of the meat and onions.
