McCormick Savory Leaves are the dried leaves of the herb Satureja montana. Satureja montana is a wild growing herb. Savory has an aromatic, piquant flavor, and a fragrant aroma, reminiscent of thyme. It is characterized by minty, green, and medicinal tones. Savory is warming to taste

Savory has peppery flavor and was used before true pepper was imported. Its German name translates to "bean herb" as it is a delightful addition to that vegetable. Savory blends well with other herbs. Savory is very good in meats, stuffings, chicken, soups, salads, sauces, and eggs. Fish, especially trout, is delicious when seasoned with Savory.
