In 1985 Chef Larry Raymond perfected this sweet and tangy barbecue sauce from a family recipe and entered the country's largest rib cookoff. He named this sauce after the nickname his brother got while playing basketball on Chicago's West Side, Sweet Baby Ray. Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce is so fine, it's taste beat out nearly 700 other entries in the riboff cookoff. Within a year Larry and Ray and a high school friend, Mike O'Brien, formed a company around this tasty barbecue sauce. Since then they've been sharing this award-winning sauce with folks all across the USA and their philosophy is simple, "The sauce is the Boss."
