Golden Dipt Fish and Chips Batter, Case of 12 10 oz Cartons
Make authentic English Fish and Chips using this Golden Dipt Fish 'n Chips Seafood Batter Mix by McCormick. Simply mix with water, stir, dip cut up fish in batter, and fry. Excellent Fish and Chips made easily!
Cooking Tips
- Thaw frozen fish or seafood before using.
- For a thicker coating, dust fish with remaining dry Batter Mix before dipping fillets into the prepared batter. Discard any remaining mix.
- Cook several pieces of fish at a time to help maintain oil at its best frying temperature.
Flavorful Tip
- Sprinkle fish with McCormick Black Pepper before dipping into batter.
English Style Fish 'n Chips
Stir 1 cup of Golden Dipt Fish and Chips Batter Mix with 2/3 cups of water in a medium bowl until smooth. Dip 1 pound of cod fillets (cut into serving-size pieces) into batter. Cook in hot oil for 3 to 5 minutes. Turn once while cooking to brown evenly. Cook until golden brown and fish flakes evenly with a fork. Remove fish from oil, drain on paper towel and serve with malt vinegar, and French fries or fried potato wedges. Serve with either cocktail sauce or tarter sauce.
Best with cod, flounder, tilipia or trout.
To coat 2 lbs of fish fillets, use entire carton plus 1 1/2 cups of water.
Lemon and Pepper Fish Fillets
- 1 cup Golden Dipt Fish and Chips Batter Mix.
- 2/3 cup water
- 2 tsp McCormick Lemon and Pepper Seasoning Salt
- 1 pound tilapia or cod fillets
Mix batter with water in a medium bowl until smooth. Sprinkle fish with Lemon and Pepper Seasoning Salt. Cook in hot vegetable or canola oil as described above.
Ingredients: Enriched wheat flour (flour, niacin, iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), yellow corn flour, modified corn starch, salt, leavening (sodium aluminum phosphate and monocalcium phosphate), and spices (including celery seed and black pepper).
