Then the crumbs are toasted to a delicate crunch that won't burn as easily during cooking. And since these panko bread crumbs are unseasoned they'll combine perfectly with all varieties of seasoning ingredients.
Use Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs like you would any regular bread crumbs. Panko bread crumbs make an excellent coating for fried seafood, poultry, vegetables, meats and fruits. Panko bread crumbs are unbeatable as a topping for casseroles and baked foods.
- For frying: Start by seasoning Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs according to the recipe you are making and to your taste. First dust your favorite food with flour and then dip into a beaten egg. Finally coat evenly with Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs. Deep fry according to recipe. Enjoy.
- For baking: Mix Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs with a little bit of olive oil. Add desired seasonings such as ground spices, herbs, and grated hard cheeses or chopped nuts. Sprinkle mixture over your casserole and bake.
Recipe for Crunchy Fried Shrimp
- 3 large eggs
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 pound jumbo raw shrimp
- 1-1/2 cups Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs
- Olive Oil
- Beat eggs in a medium bowl until frothy.
- Mix flour, salt and pepper in another medium bowl.
- Dredge shrimp in flour mixture, shake off excess flour.
- Dip coated shrimp into eggs and coat both sides with Panko, pressing Panko onto shrimp.
- Pour enough oil into large heavy pot to reach a depth of 2 inches and heat to 350° f.
- Working in batches, add shrimp to hot oil and deep-fry until cooked through (about 1 minute)
- Remove shrimp from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Arrange shrimp on a platter.
Makes 3 to 4 servings of Panko Coated Shrimps (prawns)
